Mrs. Ginger Pierce
My name is Ginger Pierce and I am the Special Education Resource teacher for middle school. I am responsible for delivering instruction in Reading/Language Arts for special ed students from 6th - 12th grade. I am in my fourth year as part of the Jessieville staff. I moved here in the summer of 2014 from Texas. I taught in the Austin, TX school district for 12 years and in the Houston area prior to that. I have a Bachelor's degree in Behavioral Science from Rice University and a Master's degree in Education from the Univ of Houston. In addition to special ed certification, I also have certification in G/T and ESL. In December 2017 I completed coursework for a dyslexia therapist certificate at UALR. On a personal note, I have been married for 31 years to husband, Jim, and we have 2 boys. One is grown, married & has children of his own. The other graduated from the University of Illinois in May 2017 and teaches high school Chemistry & Molecular Biology. He is grown but not quite off the payroll yet. I am a regular bike rider, play tennis, and do some hiking. I ran 2 marathons while living in Texas, but my running days are over now. My husband is retired and plays golf daily. He is also my personal chef and errand boy. We are happy living in the Village and are active in several groups. I look forward to meeting and serving the families of my students.
