Mrs. Erin Radke
Erin Radke received her Master's Degree in Education from Arkansas State and her Bachelor's Degree in English and Journalism from University of Arkansas at Little Rock. Currently, she teaches all the senior level English courses including College Comp and AP Literature. Additionally, she also teaches the journalism courses and advises the school yearbook.
With over twenty years’ experience advising student publications, Radke serves on the Arkansas Journalism Advisers Association Board of Directors as the secretary.
The first two books scored better each year with last year her students being awarded excellent and superiors in writing, photography and design. Additionally, two of her students took home number “Of the Year” place awards for writing, designing and maintaining a strong business manager position. One of her current students is a finalist for Northwestern University’s Medill-Northwestern Journalism Institute held this summer in Evanston, IL.
Radke, along with her students, serves as the secretary school at the convention where she and her students are responsible for the printing and distribution of the award certificates.
During her career, Radke has been presented with the Reynolds High School Journalism Institute Fellow position, United States Distance Learning Platinum Award in International teaching for her work with up to 25 Arkansas public high schools per year, and the ASPA Adviser of the Year in 2006. She also currently judges Colorado, Florida and Washington yearbooks during her summer break.
In what free time is left, Radke enjoys menacing her husband, daughter and two cats with her camera. She also rewards them with her cooking masterpieces to maintain the peace. She is an avid Chicago Cubs fan exemplifying her love for the underdog.
