2022-2023 Jessieville School District COVID Protocols

The Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) has released the school district recommendations for COVID-19 protocols. Jessieville School District is establishing the following procedures in regards to Positive COVID-19 cases:

 

  1. If a student or staff member tests positive for COVID-19, they will be required to stay home for 5 days following the symptom start date. 

  2. When the student or staff members returns to school on day 6, they will need to wear a mask through day 10 from symptom date. 

  3. If they do not want to wear a mask:

    1. They may test with the school nurse on the morning of Day 6 before going to class. The student must be brought to school and cannot ride the bus. 

    2. If negative, the student will not be required to wear a mask and go back to school. 

    3. If the student tests positive, they will be sent back home. They can test daily through day 10 and can return to school on the first day with a negative result or on day 11.

  4. If the student who tests positive is a school athlete:

    1. Forms will be emailed to the parent

    2. Forms must be completed and returned to the school prior to participation in any athletic practice and/or event. 

  5. There will be no contact tracing for probable close contacts.
