When seniors Jarrett Davis and Andrew Graves heard their classmates complaining about walking to lunch in the rain, they decided to use 3D design apps in their EAST class to draw plans for a covered walkway that would span across the front of their campus. Next, the students took their blueprints to superintendent Melissa Speers, who was impressed with their initiative. Today, the new awning protects not only high school students walking to lunch, but also elementary students walking to and from the buses every day.
Our district is proud of students who work to find solutions, especially when it benefits their whole community. Thank you, Jarrett and Andrew!
