Discover After-School Tutoring (6-12)
Discover After-School Tutoring is available free of charge for all 6-12 students on Monday-Thursdays from 3:30-5:30 p.m. The program is staffed with certified teachers from Jessieville Middle School and High School who teach a variety of subjects. Parents can sign students up to come to two hours of tutoring or to one hour of tutoring followed by a one-hour activity time. Students receive an after-school snack and drink, and then begin working on schoolwork or studying, depending on each student’s needs. During the one-hour activity time, students can choose from several different activities, depending on the day of the week and staff availability. Some activities available include archery, art, sports & recreation, board games, Middle School E-Sports, and a mentoring program for young men called Gentlemen Lions. After tutoring, students can be picked up at the school or can ride a bus to one of the following locations: the Boys and Girls Club, the Shell Station in the Village, or up 298 to Rock Springs Church.
